TUN MAHATHIR WAS CALLED "CROOK"

Many must have read the New Straits Time early this week when Minister in the Prime Ministers Department Dato' Seri Nazri Aziz called Tun Mahathir, the ex IGP Tun Hanif and the ex AG Tan Sri Talib Osman "crooks". To be fair, amongst the three, the most deserving to be called crook is Tun Mahathir. In fact he had been called a "Firaun" which is even more degrading when he was Prime Minister. If everyone can recall the http//members.tripod.com/~mahazalimtwo that ran for years in the internet calling him Firaun or Mahazalim interchangeably. The non Malays may not be that familiar with Firaun which is the Pharoah during ancient Egypt. Remember the film the Ten Commandments. There the Pharoah played by Yul Brynner was not only a dictator par excellence but also annointed himself as God. And we knew his fate. He met with a tragic death on the seabed of the Red sea whilst he and his chariots were in pursuit of Moses and his people crossing the Red sea to escape from the Pharoah's tyranny.

As for the ex AG Tan Sri Abu Talib Osman, he probably deserved it given his important role in the dismissal of Tun Salleh Abbas the former Chief Justice, as a consequence of which our judiciary 's reputation and hence public confidence towards it went down the drain and has not fully recovered until this day. Of course as a civil servant he must have been directed by his superior. To add salt to injury! we have the Lingam Tape debacle on the judiciary

As for the Ex IGP, Tun Hanif, he does not deserve to be called a crook. Although I must say that it is not usual for an ex Head of the Police to become the Chairman of a "Gambling" company. I dont think this happened anywhere in the world!

You may not realise that the process of Karma or as the Muslims believe in the power on the Will of God, many of the wrongdoings committed by our leaders in the past, whether politicians or otherwise are slowly coming out in the open no matter how much they tried to hide them from the public. Every day we see one episode after another being exposed through the Will of the Almighty like the recent collapse of the stadium in Trenggannu and before that the Klang Free Trade Zone project. And what is next? Whatever it is it will come out sooner or later.

And the Rakyat want those responsible to be PUNISHED. And if the Government still dilly dally and take no action, more troubles will brew because God is Great and the Rakyat had been suffering in silence for a long time because of CORRUPTION, NEPOTISM and CRONYSIM and they also prayed day and night for FAIRNESS, TRANSPARENCY and HONESTY to prevail in the country so that everyone irrespective of race and religion will have an even playing field to earn their living.

If they are driven to the wall and their patience taxed to the maximum limit they may just exercise their last weapon against the Government, which is the "BALLOT BOX"

And for UMNO here is a lesson. As long as UMNO continues to align itself with Tun Mahathir or look upon him as its "saviour" this will be the beginning of UMNO's demise. In the Bukit Gantang by election, one voter came out openly that he wanted to vote for BN but because Mahathir went there to campaign he gave his vote to Pakatan Rakyat. Again in the Manik Urai election, UMNO must be very careful who they choose as their candidate s as not to choose the wrong one. In this case BN the candidate in his interview with the press after the election in response to the question who is his most admired leader- he replied Tun Mahathir. That sort of reply can only come from a moron or someone who is very "taksub" to a personality cult. In such circumstances and forum, he should never convey his "personal" feelings. After all he is put there by UMNO as a candidate and hence whatever he says must reflect the party's platform and conscience. I believe if Mahathir went there to campaign, the BN loss will be even bigger
